Machine Connection to CutControl

Hey y’all. I powered my machine on for the first time today and am currently having trouble getting CutControl to see my machine. I’m using the Langmuir provided PC, but also tried with CutControl on my laptop and also tried multiple versions. I can’t seem to find much info on going online with the machine. The only thing I can find on LM’s website seems to indicate it will automatically see it if the usb cable is plugged in. Has anyone else run into this issue?

do you have that usb filter on the cable that runs to the machine? the only other thing i can think of is there are 2 power switches behind the box the big one for the spindle and the small one for the controller. i learned that the hardway at first lol

Yeah, I’m using the cable with the ferrite chokes. I did make sure to turn on both power switches. The only other thing I can think is maybe a bad cable? I have a usb cable that I use to connect to machines at work that I know works well. Might try that to rule out the possibilities of a bad cable

Update. USB is not the issue. I’m checking the panel and things are acting weird. Currently, when I hit the estop (open contacts), the power supply and drivers turn on and when I release the estop (close the contacts) power supply shuts off and kills the drivers power etc. I confirmed with the estop pressed that the power supply is acting normal. 120 in, ground and common are good, 36v DC out. However even with the power supply on, the board doesn’t seem to be getting power. I don’t read any power on any of the 5v connectors.

Would anyone be able to open there panel and check a couple things for me? I’m seeing a 36v port on one of the connectors for the board which I assume is power in, but there is no wire going to it.

Looking into the estop circuitry, I realized the estop was plugged into common on the board instead of 36v, effectively creating a short circuit. Swapping the wire to its correct place, the control board now lights up and cut control sees the machine, but is having trouble communicating with it. Hoping the board wasn’t fried

Good luck. I can confirm that J10 isn’t hooked up by default.

I can also confirm that your e-stop was mis-wired, this is how mine looked originally:

In general Langmuir uses black as DC positive, white as DC negative (an unusual choice, but they are at least consistent).
