I recently installed my new Limit Switch kit on my CrossFire Pro after relocating from NC to OH. All worked well initially during installation and calibration. I jogged the gantry from the Soft Home position (back left) to where I placed my sheet of metal to cut a simple 3" circle-based part near the front left. I did a test dry run, then ran the program in normal cut mode successfully. All was fine until I returned the gantry to the Soft Limit Home. After that the system went into alarm mode because the Y Limit Switch was no longer being sensed by the control box. As it turns out the Limit Switch wiring harness had snagged on the upper left corner of the control box and broke a wire internally within the bundle. I had routed/aligned the wiring as shown in the directions, using the included tie straps. Now the only way to run my machine is to disable the Soft Limits through the configuration menu. Can I get a new wiring harness, and some additional guidance on routing/securing this cable for a longer life span.
have you got pictures of the issues…sounds pretty easy…but pictures help
I am with @toolboy on this: a picture is worth a thousand…
When you talk of “soft limit home”, are you saying where you zeroed all axis? Because the home button will send the machine to the hard limits of the switches which are meant to home in the back left corner.
Soft limits are not a destination and are only there to limit moving the torch past the limits of the rails, accidently.
whoooohoooo…somone fianally agreees with me!!!..yipeeeeee…
sorry that was my inside voice and it got out…
I always agree with you. Sometimes it is quietly!!!
Just for the record: I applauded your effort to make your own desiccant filter out of the water filter.
as for the wires…this is something you have to work on…
some people make tractor cable feeds…
I installed a little bar (red) and clipped wires to the end so they clear the control box…
These are things that make the table a learning experiance…
@rat196426 That is an amazingly clean setup. And the water bed is insanely clean and rust free. Your water treatment and empty/filter/refill system is certainly working well. I know you use Plasma Green, or at least, used to.
I spray down with wd 40 at end of day wipe with rag, still using plasma green. The pic is from over a year ago. The pro is in garden shed now due to making room in shop for the XR. The pro still gets about 6 hours a week of cutting use and still looks like pic.
