Limit switch upgrade issue on Z axis

I tried upgrading the limit switch sensors to better units, I ended up ordering and installing 4 of these from AutomationDirect.com:
CSK087B-L

X, Y1 and Y2 are working fine, but I cannot get the machine to clear the error on the Z axis, it doesn’t seem to see the sensor. I’ve tried swapping a sensor from the X axis with no luck.

If I wire in the stock sensor it works and the error clears, if I jump the wires going to the sensor it works…

The LED on the CSK087B-L does illuminate when it is plugged in, and does turn off when the sensor is depress, like all the other axis.

Not sure where to go from here, any feedback is appreciated.

I dont remember if it is on here or the facebook page. Id do some searching on both . And hope someone chimes in. I havent put my upgraded switches on yet but i believe your issue has something to do with the light on the z switch. I believe they disable it. Hopefully one of the guys that have done it will chime in andsay how they did it.

Cut off the LED. I have used those switches for over a year now. I never did the Z switch because it was covered and a pain to upgrade.
Could you keep us posted?

Thank you, I’ll try cutting the LED out to see if it there is any change. It’s strange that it doesn’t cause any issues on the other axis.

As I said, I never upgraded the Z axis, so I can’t give you an intelligent answer. The LED must have some resistance on the control board.
I am waiting to hear how it works. Please update me. Maybe @AlexW can chime in on this. I will bet he knows what’s up.

Good news, cutting out the led on the Z-axis has resolved the issue, the machine homes just fine now.
