I’m having troubles, I keep getting uneven cuts. Any help would be appreciated.
The interior circle is suppose to be centered, but it cuts narrow on one side.
Is the OD of the circle right?
It’s a little off, about 1/8 in.
Do you have the dxf you’re using?
Did you make sure everything is tight?
Dxf Is at my shop in the computer. Everything seem tight. I tried different circles files, it did the same thing.
If the files are good I would check the set screws on the drive motors.
I’ve had them come loose before and screwed up the circles and arcs a bit but not quite to that extreme.
I checked once, but I will double check tomorrow.
You are cutting inside circle first right? Then outside.
You also have an issue with leadin or something, like too close and too long pierce or something
Yes cutting inside first. My lead In’s look like they are cutting fine. It doesn’t look like the circle cuts line up probably. I dont know what’s causing it. it cut fine a few weeks ago, that I can tell.
+1 for the lead screw couplers.
attach a sharpie to the torch mount and draw out the design to rule out the cutter. make sure torch is OFF.
Also, like other have said, could be loose couplers/setscrews. mark a a straight line on both the lead screws and motor shafts and run the program. once it’s complete, check to see if the lines still match up or not. If they don’t then you have a tighten the couple a lil more.
Thanks, I will try that.
I go a long with set screw on stepper motor side of the screw coupler, I had similar problem. Use good light, and take a good look at the motor shaft while jogging the axis…the set screw needs to be on the flat of the motor shaft (I put some thread lock on mine) also on the screw side, if the set screw is on top of the tread it can slip into the grove. Vibration seem to effect these set screws. Good Luck.
