First time user - Sporadic cutting errors (Solved?)

Then @Knick 's suggestion is the most plausible. As hard as it is to believe…

And not because it’s Knick! Although…
What I mean is that you shouldn’t HAVE to unplug your laptop to use it with this system.

well, without definitively knowing whether or not that was the fix, I did just now try running it without the laptop charger plugged in and sure enough:

so thats pretty cool! Thanks for the suggestions. at this point now I’m trying to dial in cutting out these finer details like the stars and smaller letters. I’m sure if this was 16 gauge it’d probably be a different story but this thicker stuff has been melting the details more so than actually cutting it out. I reckon thats a speed/pierce delay thing yeah?

No. We know. We have seen this often. 90% of the time, I used to run my laptop plugged in and did not have a problem. One time I did have problems. Never ran plugged it without the plug adapter after that. No more problems.

Sometimes, but not always, you can run the charger with the adapter plug that that lacks the ground and not have the issue.

First thing you need to get the right consumables for the torch. The consumables that came with the torch are not IPT40 consumables they are S45 consumables. They are also drag tips not tips you would use on a cnc table. Also its a 50 amp unit and would need a 1.0mm/50 amp tip. And 10 seconds of post flow is not long enough to keep the consumables and torch cool so you can plan on replacing the consumables fast and the torch may not last very long. The plasma cutter looks like a knock off Yeswelder.
