Fire Control Update Won't Work on Mac [SOLVED]

I am trying to update to the most current Fire Control on my Mac to most current version posted on LS website (which says 21.1.5) but it keeps giving me a prompt that says “cannot open due to an unidentified developer.” I clicked ok and it will not update. I have tried restarting. Any ideas? Do I need to uninstall the last version I had? Please help. Thank you!

Yes uninstall and install the last working version.

I uninstalled Fire Control and restarted, dowloaded current version but still get “unable to open due to unidentifiable developer” prompt. Any other thoughts?

Download the old version 20.6.

And try it.

I think I figured it out. I think it was some setting on my computer blocking it. I really appreciate your help. If it doesn’t work then I will try the old version, Thank again!

You’re welcome you should post what setting you think it was for somebody in the future if they stumble by this.

Go to System Preferences / Security & Privacy
You will see a message Re" firecontrol could not be opened … Open anyway
Click that and it will work.

Have fun.

Yes, it was basically something on my computer in the privacy settings. I feel stupid I didn’t think about that, oh well…live and learn. Thanks everyone.
