Cuts are not straight and symmetrical

I am cutting some decorations for my shop. This is my first attempt at anything thicker than 16 guage. I cut this Harley emblem out of 1/4 inch and there are some issues. The biggest being the left side where it started/finished the outermost contour. Also the point at the top does not line up with the inner contour. Any tips to remedy this?

Tabs Or cutting faster

As your material heats up it will naturally start to move and by the looks of yours it started rotating clockwise and that’s where you’re seeing the discrepancy on the left hand side.

The less heat you can put into the material the less you’ll have defects like this.

And /or putting tabs that puts force against the rotational force that the heat crates while the material expands.
