I know this software is basic, but is there a software package that allows you to add an image in the background for faster navigation. I am modifying existing cast aluminum work pieces. It would be amazing to add a picture of the work piece and navigate around the image - nothing precise - but at least get in the general area where I need to make a modification.
I believe you can add a background or layer in Inkscape. Most of those program allow you to lock layers so you don’t alter them while you are working on your design.
Fusion 360 definitely allows adding a “canvas” that can be any jpg, png or other.
