Compressor start causes Hypertherm xp45 to cut out

Yup I’m talking copper wire too. If you plan on using AL you’ll need 4g for that 100ft run.

I have thought of doing that, I am actually up and running, just need to turn the compressor off when it’s full to cut. But I will probably add a tank for extra capacity if the compressor can handle running for so long, need to check duty cycle.

Hello James, check your compressor switch on pressure. That is the pressure at which the compressor switches on to replenish the storage tank. The 45 XP must have a minimum of 85 psi at the input. If the pressure drops below 85 the plasma may cut off. I had to crank up the pressure range on my compressor to keep the line pressure above 85 psi at all times. After that I had no problems.
