Reading through documentation my plasma cutter has 1:1 output. In LS docs this says I need to use the bananna pigtails. My question is, instead of opening up the case, can I just run the pigtails to the 1:1 connector?
Thanks

which cutter do you have?
Raw voltage. Langmuir is 50:1
If you can wire them to the connector, I don’t see any reason it wouldn’t work.
Yes, I understand that, and my output is 1:1. I assume using the pigtails directly to torch and ground is 1:1. Hence the question can I just run the pigtails to my 1:1 output rather than opening up the case.
That’s what I was thinking. Be easier to wire up a 2 pin connector to pigtails than to open up case and insert wires.
Hynade Cut60DN, so far works pretty good, just want to hook up THC.
I would test the 1 to 1 port and make sure it is 1 to 1 before doing it. If you get a reading of around 300 volts then I would try it. The trouble with those type plasma cutter is they can vary a lot.
There is 1:1 in voltage, but if it is a high resistance source then the VIM box could load it down and you’ll get a lower voltage once it’s hooked up. This is why almost everyone recommends directly wiring to the Plasma Cutter lugs. They won’t have this problem.
ok. I’ll go with this option and leave the output port alone.
Thanks for the advice
