Excessive wear on the upper rail causing stoppages

My upper rail is developing some fairly significant ruts that are limiting the travel of the gantry. At their deepest they measure .06mm deep and are enough to cause the gantry to stall. I cannot use the last few inches of travel without the risk of a jam during the cutting process so I need to sort this out.

The worst area is on the Stepper side of the upper rail.

If this is normal then I need to know how to adjust something to get it to travel reliably. I have normal wear on the X axis that does not interfere with travel.

Hi Ed,

Yours was one of the first machines that we shipped out and we admittedly preloaded the bearing blocks way too much. With that said your wear patterns don’t look too concerning. Check out this thread for the bearing block preload procedure: Bearing replacement

That bearing on the right in the pic appears to be failing.
