How do i use a picture of a 2d object and convert it into a file on fusion?
I would use inkscape or something similar to convert to SVG or DXF file then import to fusion
I’m sure there’s an easier way but I’ve been using photoshop to make my drawing/text/add bridges to letters and parts
Then Inkscape to bitmap it and scale to correct size and make it an SVG for fusion
Since you’re using Inkscape as part of your workflow anyway, you could skip Photoshop and do all your design in Inkscape before sending it to Fusion.
Or use Photoshop to export as SVG and insert that into Fusion instead. I don’t think you can do DXF exports in Photoshop but since it supports SVG, you don’t need DXF.
Inkscape sucks compared to photoshop for real editing though.
Photoshop i don’t tnink can trace the bitmap I’m not sure…
If you want to trace an image you will either need to use Inkscape, Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator. Those are the only really good programs that can turn an image into a vector that can be used in Fusion.
The answer depends on what you are trying to make.
If it is a part that needs dimensions, then you will want to use Fusion 360.
If it is artistic, then you will want to use Inkscape, Illustrator, or Corel draw.
I’ve used Illustrator quite a bit in the past at work, but I have been to cheap to buy it for my self. After I learned Illustrator, I hated photoshop.
I’ve played with Inkscape a few times, and I hate it… But it does get the job done.
If you guys have no drawing experience, what would you recommend getting of those three you guys have listed?
You can just use Inkscape . Making a really good SVG in Inkscape can take a while on sufficiently complex images. Haven’t tested this yet, but if it’s decent, I’m thinking I’ll probably use it to start an SVG and then fine-tune the result by hand in Inkscape.
If you just want a program for making vectors, then Inkscape will probably fill that role. If you wanted to do graphic design work, then it would probably make sense to bite the bullet and get the Coreldraw .
I have a XP-Pen Star 06 painting tablet to use with Inkscape for node editing and drawing new art.
